
ANGELA
SARKIS CBE
A self employed Management Consultant who has extensive experience working
with public and voluntary sector organisations. Angelas contracts include:
Strategic Adviser to the Council of Ethnic Minorities Voluntary Organisations;
Teacher Workload Adviser to the Department for Education & Skills and
consultant on community regeneration and change management to a range of faith
organisations. Prior to her present role, she was Chief Executive to the Church
Urban Fund and Director to The Divert Trust. She has worked in the Probation
Service and Family Services Units and has a great deal of knowledge in working
with young people at risk and disadvantaged urban communities. This is put
to good use, as she is involved in a number of voluntary activities and public
services, including: Chair for the National Council Voluntary Organisations
Diversity Project; Adviser for the Social Exclusion Unit; Trustee for the
BBC Children in Need (1995-2002); Committee Member for the Joseph Rowntree
Foundation (Housing & Neighbourhood Committee) and Member of the Faith
and Nation Enquiry for the Evangelical Alliance. Angela was awarded the CBE
in 2000.
