Founded in 1999, the National Black Women’s Network (NBWN) is a agenda-driven organisation dedicated to increasing the representation, progression and inclusion of women of colour in all sectors of business, professions and government.

Founded by Sonia Brown MBE, the NBWN supports its members by providing dynamic initiatives through network support, leadership, mentoring and access to events featuring industry leaders.
In addition, the NBWN provides the ideal platform for women to develop strong professional and social contacts; high quality training and education programmes; plus, national recognition.
In today's modern world, putting a spotlight on diversity, equity and inclusion there is no better time to partner with the network to drive innovative, creative and fresh ways of thinking into their career, organisation and business to ensure women are not only able to succeed but thrive.

After two decades of representing the views of our members; advising UK Government and developing campaigns that challenge discrimination, the journey continues. By continually creating awareness of the challenges that gender and racial gaps pose; businesses and organisations can embrace the opportunities that emerge when intentional action is taken to reduce them. As for SistaTalk, this has been the leading niche social networking site from the National Black Women's Network for almost two decades.
It existed as a stand-alone site for many, many years, but in order to give its community of thousands the foundation to build upon, it was brought under the NBWN umbrella in 2022.
