Dear Little Me

I see you, brave, bright, bursting with questions and I want you to know something they never told us and you are not here to shrink. You are not here to fit in. You are here to explore, to question, to rise.
Don’t trade your truth for approval. The world will try to tame your light with rules, fears and labels. Don’t let it.
Dream bigger than they say is sensible. Speak louder than they say is polite. Feel deeper than they say is safe. What they called “too much” was actually your magic and when they try to pass down their fear as fact, don’t inherit it. Let it stop with them.
Here’s one exercise I wish we’d learned earlier and every night, write one sentence beginning with, “If I wasn’t afraid, I would…”
Let it surprise you. Let it teach you then act on it. Start small, but stay consistent.
Still cheering for you, always. Older. Wiser. Free.
......... The woman you were always becoming
To every sister reading this, if this gave you fire, insight or a flicker of memory, like this post to honour her, comment to speak life over the girl you used to be and share this with someone still learning to love their inner child. Your younger self survived so your present self could rise. Be proud. Be bold. Be free.
