30 Day Business Challenge

Public·5 Goal Crushers

Why Entrepreneurs Love Business Challenges.

No matter your best intentions, when real life challenges kick in and the distractions and setbacks are full on, it is harder to stick to accomplishing your everyday goals let alone your business ones.

In addition, many small business owners are struggling with new technology and the changing expectations of their customers post pandemic.

The 30-day challenge may sound like your microwave dream of success compared to the traditional goal setting strategies on the market, but believe me there are certain things that you have to do in order to see positive and profitable results in your business based on the actions you take.

The High Street is facing intense challenges and strong competition.

I spoke to a traditional Irish butcher who was not only losing his loyal customers due to old age, death and ill health he had to find a way to attract younger customers who were more used to ordering rather than cooking.

So as well as selling traditional cuts, he has developed popular marinates such as Jerk Chicken, Garlic and Lemon and Tandoori to name a few which has proved very popular with his millennial clientele.

The result?

Not only does this appeal to a more diverse community it helps customers to avoid the hassle of preparation.

So how are you preparing for the future?

Talking to countless business owners over the years, there is a common theme that always shows up with those struggling to grow and stay ahead of their competition. The resistance to change and take purpose driven action.

Surprised? No. Setting goals, just like New Year Resolutions are easier said than done.

What’s Next?

For many years I have always been interested in the actions of successful people in business and tried to emulate this in my actions.

By emulating their attitude and behaviour (sometimes not as successfully) I had been able to find out what works best for my particular style of working and come up with my own strategy for business success.

I have read lots of biographies of high achieving individuals; watched training and industry award winning documentaries and read most of the popular business books released to help us better shape success, but you cannot get away from three simple rules.

  1. Writing down your ideas is to plan, allocate time and resources .Planning will help you to overcome many of your challenges.

  2. Chunking down your goals into actionable steps (goals) is to map and problem solve and make your goals realistic and achievable. Without goals you will not be able to fulfil your vision. By taking actionable steps you keep away from low priority actions.

  3. Monitor and evaluate on paper is to create your business model.

We can learn from people around us, but unless we try, test, evaluate and try again we will never be able to come up with an authentic strategy that produces the best results in our business.

There will always be challenges, they are just different. A lack of attention to your business goals will come back to bite you if you do not take action.

We all know that not every single goal will be completed within 30 days, but you will find that it will help you to build momentum and keep you motivated to complete the task(s) at hand.

Research shows that it takes 21 days on average to break a habit, so I am sure that once you start on a challenge, transformation of some sort will take place as a result of diligently working towards accomplishing your business goals.

Why?

As you navigate staff retention, supplier constraints, new technology and managing sales against the backdrop of the pandemic; rising living costs and the changing needs of your customers you will need pragmatic and practical help and advice fast!

A 30-day challenge will keep all those business thoughts, ideas and concepts that appear random in an organised and well-thought-out plan. It will be easier to see and up with pragmatic solutions to most issues or obstacles you will face in your business.

By being part of a challenge you will subconsciously begin to journal, review and mediate on your goals on a regular basis. You will become more productive as you transform your attitude and behaviour into profitable actions right through to completion.

On a personal level, you will stop feeling overwhelmed. It keeps you focused on the big issues rather than on the trivia and feelings of failure due to poor habits, lack of discipline and procrastination.

A 30-day Challenge will allow you to track your progress over a specified time and put right any problems that will impede your long-term success.

Let’s Do It!
