The Most Unprotected Person In The World Is…The Black Woman.
Black women are unprotected at home. Black women are unprotected in the work place. Black women
are unprotected in the market place. Black women are unprotected in the very communities they serve and…
Black women are even unprotected in Menopause.
Studies show that black women start menopause earlier. On average 9.5 months earlier than white women.
Black women have more severe, intense, frequent and prolonged:
- hot flashes
- night sweats
- depression
- suicidal ideations
- panic attacks
- anxiety
- mood changes
Black women have more increased risk of developing:
- psychological health issues
- dementia
- cardiovascular health issues
- diabetes
- heart disease
- high blood pressure
- osteoporosis
- obesity
But in 2025, there are still NO ANSWERS for black women as to, why this is.
Black women are not getting the medical attention and care they need. Research on menopause and how it affects black women is not a priority. Black women’s health is not even on the agenda.
Upon all this, black women are still expected to perform at their best:
- at home
- in the work place
- in business
- in our communities
- in ministry
Black women are suffering in silence.
Black women are hanging on by ‘a thread.’
It’s time for change.
Black women carry everyone and everything else. Black women make a huge contribution to this world.
Imagine a world without black women? Exactly. There would be none. Let that sink in.
I am her. She is me.

This truth is hitting the soul.
Suffering in silence has cost us too much physically, emotionally, spiritually. We deserve to be supported, heard and held.
Thank you for saying what so many are feeling.
Ladies, start by checking in with your body daily. Ask, “What do I need right now?” and listen without judgment. Your body holds wisdom.
